Following a two year suspension of the production of hockey cards, Topps skated back onto the ice for the 1984-85 NHL Hockey Season.

You may notice that the design of the Topps 84′ hockey card is quite similar to the layout of the Topps 83′ baseball card!

Topps also used a mylar wrapper with crimped ends for their 1984-85 Hockey product which they had experimented using on a small portion of their 83′ Baseball distribution, which is known within the unopened industry as “Michigan Test Packs” or “Michigan Test Boxes”.

Topps had to be ecstatic about the 1984-85 NHL Hockey rookie class which included Pat Verbeek as well as future NHL Hall of Fame players Dave Andreychuk, Pat LaFontaine, and the fabulous Steve Yzerman.

There are also a couple of cards in this checklist of some guy named Gretzky that tend to be sought after as well.

This very attractive (non x-out) authenticated and unopened 1984-85 Topps Hockey Wax Box displays moderate shelf wear, boasts bright colors, and has been BBCE authenticated.
