This wildly successful weekly broadcast “dramady” was based on the daily lives and obstacles that the staff of a mobile army surgical hospital endured during the Korean War. M*A*S*H ran for 11 years (1972-1983) and aired 256 original episodes.

The series finale is the most watched television episode in American history.
