This mint condition PSA 9 graded 1972 Topps Football (2nd Series) unopened wax pack features NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Lance Alworth on the back of the pack.

At the time of this writing there are only 49 unopened football wax packs from the 72′ Topps 2nd series that have been authenticated and given a PSA 9 grade.

This specific pack is the only pack on the PSA pop report to be labeled with Lance Alworth’s card showing on back!

Note that this series in 1972 (2nd Series) checklist consists of the rookie cards of HOF’ers Roger Staubach, Emmitt Thomas, Eugene Upshaw, Larry Little, and Charlie Joiner.

The Lance Alworth card on the back of the pack was an error card that was never corrected by Topps.
The card classifies the legendary WR incorrectly as a Tight End (TE).
